Ke Zhang (b. 2001, China) is a New York-based artist working across video, performance, and sculpture. She received her BA in Digital Media Arts from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and holds an MFA in Visual Arts at Columbia University School of the Arts. Her works have been exhibited internationally in New York, London, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Jingdezhen.  

Ke’s interdisciplinary practice is grounded in physical movement and embodied awareness. Drawing from her background in dance and stage performance, she investigates the tension between mental and bodily perception, exploring how gendered bodies are shaped, presented, and interpreted—particularly in the context of digital media and cultural conditioning. 

Her works often unfold in intimate spaces such as bathrooms, hotel rooms, and massage parlors, where personal privacy collides with social visibility. Through single-character narratives and tactile interaction with space, she constructs seemingly controlled environments that slowly unravel. Her practice favors instinct over explanation, layering gesture, absurdity, and emotional disruption into poetic structures of ambiguity.
